[Natasha wouldn't describe herself as close to Rita. They have different experience and different approaches, but she does like her. She also feels for her after her rather public meltdown. For... lack of a better term.
So she gives it a minute, letting the other woman collect herself, before she messages:]
I know I was giving you a little shit, but... I don't think people thank you enough for what you do for people around here. Things like this, even when we're ungrateful, it's the kind of stuff that helps make a team instead of a bunch of idiots fighting in the same direction.
[She knows something about that. She also knows something about mistakes, and just how unglamorous being a quote-unquote superhero can be.
She's very familiar with how much it looks like what they've been doing, collecting the orbs. Fuckups and all.]
If you think you'd be up for a beer, I'd be happy to drop some by your room. If you think you'd be up for some company, I'm good for that too. Your choice.
[ rita has enjoyed natasha's company in the times they've chatted together, but it still surprises her to hear from her. not because she'd seen her as someone inconsiderate, by any means, but because β well, sometimes it still surprises her when people actually seem interested in checking on her. considering the reactions, she'd started to wonder just how many people have been annoyed by her presence all this time.
she considers the offer for a moment, debates her original plans of tucking herself in, maybe throwing on an old movie of hers, and weeping until she falls asleep.

I think I could use a beer. The company sounds especially nice too.

[Leave it to Rita to look like she's on camera even for a slumber party—or whatever you might call this. Natasha hasn't put as much energy into her appearance as she used to, not for years before she came to Ximilia. Being on the run and then the world being in ashes would do that to someone. But even at her best, before the Sokovia Accords, in the days when she might get summoned before the UN or Capitol Hill, she still didn't quite rise to this level.
She has to respect that level of attention. She knows the amount of work a hairstyle like that takes.
She smiles a little at the sight, holding up a bottle.]
[ rita answers the door with a bit of a relieved smile, even before her eyes lands on the bottle natasha's brought to ease the day's events. over the years, she's become so used to hiding out in her room on her own to overcome her own insecurities that the change in having people spare her from it is a nice change of pace. the last thing rita ever expected to find on this station was people who genuinely cared. ]

[ she laughs softly, stepping back with a held out arm in invitation for her to come inside. her room is as neat as it can be of course, colorful scarves hung around the walls to try to liven it up from its default cold appearance. the most notable "decoration" is a row of movies arranged on the table, no doubt being the full rita farr cinematic collection. ]
I think what I miss most about home is the fully stocked bar we had in the manor. Never more than a few feet away from a good cocktail when it was absolutely needed.
We do all right. [Natasha comments with a wry smile, glancing down at the bottle she brought with her. Ximilia might not have the most complete bar—at the moment there's still three bottles of gingerbread flavored vodka in the kitchen left over from the holidays, unopened. ]
Though it does make me wonder what it is about the superhero gig that encourages liberal alcohol use. I never questioned the Avengers tower having a bar in the common space...
